Part-completed or ‘kit’ boats require a Declaration of Conformity to Annex IIIa from the builder (Declaration details as above), but it should list only the ERs which have been met at the point of sale and how they have been met. A statement that the vessel was sold as requiring completion by others must be included. The vessel cannot be CE marked at this stage. However, when the boat is completed and can be shown to meet all the ERs, it may be CE marked.
