Yacht Designers & Surveyors Association
The Yacht Designers & Surveyors Association (YDSA) was originally set up in 1912 and has grown to now be an independent company, which aims to promote professionalism of its members. This is aided by running courses and seminars, with a compulsory requirement for all members to show Continual Professional Development (CPD). All members must also carry sufficient Professional Indemnity Insurance.
Membership of the YDSA is restricted to qualified individuals demonstrating an approved level of qualifications and/or experience. Normally members become Affiliates before progressing to Accredited status following an in-house examination.
